Overall growth means balance and harmony of being; it is by merging with the laws of nature that man can prosper at the conscious level. What a person has is what they lack. A rich person owns a large amount of material goods; he will have used his energy for his financial success to the detriment of other aspects of his being.
A high-level athlete develops his discipline to the detriment, for example, of art, inner life, material wealth… More generally, investing in the material, societal and objective sides of life distances us from its spiritual sides, interior and subjective. It is this principle which is stated in the sayings: “When life diminishes on the one hand, it generates on the other” and also “unhappy at games, happy in love”, or the opposite.
To summarize, every being is born with the same quantity of units. The only variable being their distribution: material wealth, security, freedom, creativity, logic, money, love, spiritual sensitivity, family happiness… Succeeding in life, concentrating your efforts on only a few aspects, two or three for example, will cause specialization , and de facto lead to an imbalance of being which will then be distinguished from the universal forces of balance and harmony.
We must avoid getting stuck in one specialization and being limited to one way of thinking. Flexibility is necessary to increase one’s harmonies with higher laws and one’s possibilities for growth.
Reality is ternary, the human being is also in its version. For humans, it is a question of body, soul and spirit. The body for physical and sensual life. The mind for its relationship to reality based on intellect, reflection, knowledge. And the soul for the spiritual thing.
Too much body locks in matter and strengthens the physical ego. Too much mind locks in the brain and reinforces the ego of the intellect. Too much orientation towards the soul distances us from matter and its possibilities of teaching and revelation.
The body and the spirit without the soul is attachment to form and the mind. The mind and the soul without the body is the disconnection with nature and the body. The body and soul without the mind leads to fanaticism or mystical experiences without consciousness.
The secret of harmony is the balance between these three faces of beings, between carnal, intellect and spiritual. These three planes then enrich each other, each providing unique possibilities for experiences and particular sources of information.
